Students will learn about 7 types of creative writing: fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, screenwriting, playwriting, comics or graphic novels, and memoirs or autobiographies. We will talk about what makes each style of writing unique as well as some of the genres found within each form. Budding writers are highly encouraged to consider which form(s) of creative writing they may want to explore with their own writing, and students who are unsure about their personal interest in creative...
Learners will need something to write or type on, plus a writing utensil, for a freewriting activity on day 1.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour 50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
