Learners will understand and apply the patterns found in the periodic table. Learners will learn to balance chemical equations. Learners will be able to identify various solutions, acids, and bases. Learners will understand concepts of carbon/organic chemistry and nuclear chemistry.
I have a BS degree in Nutrition and Food Science (pre-med track) from Florida State University. I later became a certified middle school science teacher and taught middle school science in the Florida public school system for 5 years. I have been an online teacher for Outschool and other platforms since 2018. I'm also a homeschool momma :)
Homework Offered
Homework outside of class is optional. Hands-on labs will be performed in class videos. Other projects and hands-on activities will be done outside of class time (less than one hour per week). For learners who are having trouble applying the skills of chemistry, I may ask them to watch the lesson and do some of the nearpod activities again.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Learners will be assessed by their completion of nearpod activity slides in nearpod, classroom participation, and/or hands-on activities. If you would like an overall grade issued, please let me know during the first week of class. All projects turned in will be issued a grade regardless.Grades Offered
Lesson quiz each week. All labs turned in will be graded. Contact me if you would like a cumulative grade issued.
Lecture/Slides/Discussion is broken up with Nearpod Interactive Slides to keep learners engaged. Flexible deadlines. Homework optional.
