They will also observe a chemical reaction that uses a solid and liquid to create a gas. I have a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and I taught public school for 10 years before staying home with my 3 children, whom I now homeschool. I also tutor other students for the national homeschooling program that my children belong to. Science is one of my favorite subjects to teach. One of my personal philosophies about how children learn is that if you can connect many subjects together in a fun and creative way, and include a hands-on activity, they learn more in-depth about a specific topic as well as enjoy the learning process. I have found that a great way to do this is through Language Arts. Using a great book as a springboard for learning across the subjects has been a very successful practice for myself and many others. And kids love it!
