US Grade 7 - 10
This one-shot class is an introduction to Canadian politics. We'll cover: * Canadian parliamentarism - What is parliamentarism and how does it work in Canada? * Canada's electoral system - what is First-Past-the-Post and how does it produce governments? * What is parliamentary supremacy? Why does Canada have that? The class uses a lecture format, with plenty of discussions allowing learners to compare Canada to their own country as comparison is an excellent way to learn and reach an understanding based on contrast. Learners need no preknowledge of the Canadian system to attend this class.
