I'm offering this class because I have been baking since I was 8 years old (I'm 34 now). I have baked cakes, cookies, pies, meat pies, bread, muffins and rolls. I was a baker before I was a cook. I also have a catering business. Another thing that makes me qualified is that I have been a teacher and also do private tutoring.
A one page handout will be provided. Items needed are: 1 box of cake mix (chose your favorite variety, gluten free mix works too) 4 eggs Butter (1stick) Small microwave safe bowl 1/2 cup sour cream 1/2 cup Water 9x13 baking dish 1 can Frosting (optional) 1 Mixing bowl 1 whisk or mixing spoon Measuring cups Aluminum foil Butter knife Oven mitts or 2 thick hand towels Sturdy work surface Fridge 1/3 cup flour or baking spray. Cake mix is about $1-$2 The rest of the items are staples most people have. If not, food items should not exceed $10.
