Description
Class Experience
I have been dancing for seventeen years, and have experience as a volunteer assistant teacher for children in the styles of ballet, tap, and jazz.
Just practice your moves, and have fun!
Ballet slippers and former dance attire are not required, but are definitely welcomed! In lieu of dance wear, students should wear socks and comfortable/stretchy clothing. Students should be dancing in a cleared workout space, and have a bottle of water present to keep hydrated throughout the class. Prior leg stretches are helpful, but not necessary as the students will be learning classic ballet barre stretches during class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
As with any physical activity, students of this age should be monitored during class. Although we will not be engaging in any particularly strenuous movements, there is always a risk of misstepping, slipping, etc. when learning ballet technique. Please refer to the Materials section to make sure that the student is properly prepared for class.
