Illinois Teaching Certificate in Music/Theater/Arts
Hello! ~ I'm Niki Stage and I am super excited to share my love for drawing, painting, and digital illustration with you! I have a BA in Fine Arts from Northeastern Illinois University with a Secondary Education Certification. I have been teaching Art (2D Curriculum in Drawing 1 & 2, Acrylic, Oil, and Watercolor Painting, Advanced Painting, Art Foundations, & Art Studio Honors) in a public High School for the past 6 years and freelancing as an illustrator even longer. I am currently represented by East West Literary Agency for children's book illustrations and my first published book, titled "Big Truck Day!" is coming out this September 2022!
I found that teaching remotely during COVID opened me up to new methods of documenting my process, creating and editing step by step videos and other collaborative materials/resources that allow students to work at their own pace. With this in mind, I am eager to motivate, inspire, and share my drawing, painting, digital art skills, and ‘Procreate’ knowledge to help your students develop their own artistic voice and style, ultimately creating beautiful work on IPADS from the comfort of their own homes.
Other than doodling on my IPAD, my other interests include family road trips to National Parks, going on hikes and walks with Larry (our silly basset hound), baking cookies, playing tennis, and watching Marvel & Star Wars movies with my 2 boys!
I hope to see you in my class!
