We will explore the beauty of watercolor while playing with light and shadow in these fall trees. Students will learn to blend colors creating light lights and dark darks. Proper brush care will be discussed as well as how to use the brushes to create texture with them. We will discuss what colors to begin a watercolor with, and why shading and hi-lighting are such an important part of a painting. We will have some basic colors to use and mixing our own colors will be encouraged. A little color theory is always thrown into the lesson. My teaching style is to give enough instruction to keep everyone on track while letting each person's individuality be expressed as well.
Learning Goals
Students will learn blending, hi-lighting and shading techniques along with some color theory. They will learn how to use their brush, be encouraged to mix colors and have fun!

Supply List
Supply List 8 inch by 10 inch watercolor paper, bowl or water, paper towels, number 12 round brush that comes to a point, palette paper (or a watercolor tray or a plastic plate works), Watercolor paint tubes, not the trays. A set is easy to find a craft stores. We will use white, yellow, orange, alizarin crimson(red), purple, blue, green, brown and black.
