Class experience
The students will prepare foods along with the teacher. We will discuss the cuisines of four different countries. These countries are: Mexico, Italy, Greece, and Thailand. For Mexico, we will make Tacos. For Italy we will make pizza. For Greece we will make Baklava. For Thailand, we will make Pad Thai. The students will learn how to cook healthy foods correctly. We will also be learning the reason different countries eat the way they do.
I have degrees from Iowa State University in Home Economics and French. I also have a Master's Degree in Education. I have worked as a Home Service Advisor for the Light Company. I have also taught all age students in private and public schools.
Homework Offered
Homework will be to prep the ingredients before class begins. Students will be given recipes a week in advance of the class. Each child will work in their own kitchen.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
No reports will be given. The students will be eating or having their family eat the food they cook. I will look at the food and ask them how it tastes.Grades Offered
The recipes will be listed each week on the website. I will give all parents at least one week to purchase the food. Most of the ingredients will be easily found at the grocery store or very common ingredients.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Parents may be in the kitchen guiding their students as we go.
