Average rating:4.3Number of reviews:(8)
In this set of 15 classes Intermediate to Upper Intermediate level chess students (roughly equivalent to United States Chess Federation rating between 1100 and 1600) will learn skills to propel them to become more formidable players.

Class experience

Students will learn all the tools to improve their chess level, by studying variety of topics across different aspects of the intermediate level: openings, middlegames, endgames, tactical motifs, going over the famous master games, strategical aspects of the games, analyzing some of their games upon request
I have experience teaching chess at schools as an after-school. I hold a title on International Master and USCF rating of 2450 and FIDE rating of 2370. I'm winner of many tournaments and other prizes such as co-winner of a brilliancy prize in 2005 US Championship. I love to combine fun and deep-dive study of chess in my curriculum.

Everything will be provided by teacher - interactive lessons, lecture videos, assignments. Students will be encouraged:
1) to download some chess freeware apps either on their phone, tablet or computer and spend some time studying outside the class. 2) to create a chess playing site account such as lichess.org (free site) and play among themselves in-between classes.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
This series of classes is for students who know the basics pretty well, who love chess and don't mind or are willing to spend extra time outside the classes to study. While I take in-depth serious style approach I aim to make classes fun and stimulating. If your kids have not played in any official chess tournaments yet but you feel they are at the good level I encourage you send me their games for evaluations (vs. their coach, other kids in school, computer) before enrolling into a class. If you want to have your kid play against computer as an evaluation mechanism but not sure how to do that feel free email me for instructions on how to setup the evaluation game vs. computer (all freeware).
