This class gives pre-teens and teens the tools to create show-stopping FX makeup for cosplay, theater, or creative projects! By the end of this course, students will feel empowered to push their FX skills to new heights, confidently creating realistic wounds, scars, and transformative character looks. Perfect for those wanting to take their passion for special FX makeup to the next level! In this interactive and skill-focused class, students will: * Master advanced FX techniques: We’ll move beyond basic cuts and bruises to create deep lacerations, burns, scars, and other intricate wound effects using layering and texturing methods. * Explore character and creature makeup: Students will learn how to design and execute unique character and creature looks, enhancing their creativity and attention to detail. * Experiment with 3D effects and prosthetics: We’ll introduce prosthetic pieces and other techniques to add depth and dimension to their FX work, from latex layering to sculpted prosthetic applications. * Compounding 2-part silicone for applications and Building 3D prosthetic pieces. Classes include live demos and hands-on practice, where students will experiment with techniques in real time. Students will also receive guidance on customizing their work to fit specific character designs or creative concepts. Class Continuity: Content builds. Each session introduces progressively advanced techniques that rely on previous knowledge, so students will build a cohesive set of intermediate FX skills.

This class uses materials like latex and prosthetics, which can cause skin sensitivity. Parents should ensure students have the proper makeup remover and gentle skincare for post-class care.
Pre-Requisites
Previous experience with special FX basics is recommended, such as basic cuts, bruises, and simple latex applications. This class is suitable for students who have completed a beginner FX class or have hands-on FX makeup experience.

We will be using this foam clay to create custom lightweight prosthetics!
