Class Experience

This is a highly interactive class where students are expected to participate in the activities to practice the language. 

They are also encouraged to keep their cameras on as much as possible. 

Two years of prior knowledge is suggested to fully enjoy the experience. 
 
GOALS AND DESCRIPTION (Content might be modified based on the needs of the students)

Students will learn and practice the following communicative functions:
 
Week 1: Describing yourself, your friends and family. 

Week 2: Talking about what you can do in city or neighborhood. 

Week 3: Talking about your hobbies and interests. 
 
Week 4: Talking about last weekend and next weekend. 

Week 5:  Describing a typical school day. 

Week 6: Making after school plans with a friend. 

Week 7: Talking about a past trip. 
 
Week 8: Describing how you help at home, comparing obligations, and giving excuses. 

Week 9: Talking about when you were younger. 

Week 10: Explaining the qualities of a good friend. 

Week 11: Talking about a person you respect and admire. 
  
Week 12: Describing situations why I might disagree with friends. 

We'll also discuss recently published articles that I select, and topics vary based on students level and interest. Students are exposed to history, art, culture, technology, geography and economy content in relation to events that are taking place now. 

Some past topics students have learned about and discussed are the following: (Reading and Discussion)

Week 13: RENOIR- A celebration on his 180 birth anniversary.
Week 14: MADE IN ITALY- How the "Italian sounding" effect is causing Italian brands and government lose money.
Week 15: NOTRE DAME - The delays on its restoration after the fire.
GOOGLE in AUSTRALIA - The Australian government wants to pass a law that would require Google to pay for the news that appear on the platform.
Week 16: FUKUSHIMA -The current state of the area in Japan 10 years after the earthquake, the tsunami and the nuclear plant explosion.
Week 17: MARS- The missions from three different countries that are taking place.
Week 18: PHILIPPINES- Why the Philippines is not a Spanish speaking country despite having been a Spanish colony.
