This one time class is an opportunity for intermediate Spanish students to review & practice the Spanish Preterite tense (this is the simple past tense). Topics covered: - regular conjugation of preterite tense verbs - stem-changing preterite tense verbs - irregular stems of preterite tense verbs - application of preterite tense verbs in translations from English to Spanish and Spanish to English - Helpful vocabulary will be presented in a private Quizlet class upon registration. Students may brush up on all vocabulary prior to class.
Learning Goals
- Students will improve their fluency with the simple past tense (Preterite) in Spanish - both regular & irregular verbs
- Students will create and share strategies (mnemonic devices, acronyms, etc,) for memorizing and recalling irregular preterite tense verbs
- Students will engage with teammates in a fun atmosphere to review, learn & apply Spanish concepts for deeper understanding & improved application in natural conversation and increased listening comprehension.

I lived in Mexico with a host family as an exchange student in college and attended El Universidad Autonomo de Querataro where I took daily classes in conversation & culture. After more than 8 years of studying Spanish as a student in the United States, this experience solidified my bilingualism.
