Designed for students with several years of piano experience, this class focuses on the unique technical and interpretive issues found in intermediate piano repertoire. Students will develop these skills while playing repertoire that will be assigned after an initial consultation. Students will learn how to work through technical issues found in intermediate piano literature, and will learn how to make informed, musical decisions as they interpret a piece and "make it their own."
I am an Classically-trained pianist based out of southwest Ohio, where my wife and I own and operate a private music studio. I teach students ages 5 to adult, from beginners to advanced pianists. I am also a Collaborative Pianist at Wright State University. In the course of my responsibilities at WSU, I perform over 50 concerts each year.
Homework Offered
Students will be expected to practice 5 days for 45 minutes to 1 hour per day between each lesson.4+ hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Student progress on the assigned repertoire is assessed at the beginning of each subsequent lesson and communicated to the parent.Grades Offered
Materials will be assigned after an initial consultation to determine the student's individual needs. Materials typically cost less than $25.00.
