Intermediate Music Production Using Garageband (Ages 9-13): Self-Paced

👉 PLEASE NOTE--- this is a flexible schedule class, so there are NO scheduled live meetings. There will be pre-recorded videos and discussion boards based on the project assigned that week. Also, this course is ONLY for students who already took Beginning Music Production with Mini Musicians Studio and want to continue to expand their new awesome GarageBand skills! ✩

iPads or iPhones with GarageBand downloaded are ~ REQUIRED ~ for this course. Please download the app ahead of time to ensure that your student is prepared for class (Requires iOS 13.0 or later!!!). Please let us know if you have problems at least 24 hours before class starts- refunds will NOT be given to students who realize they cannot access once the course has already begun.

🎧 COURSE OUTLINE 🎧

We will continue to master your understanding of the GarageBand app with new and challenging projects each day of camp! By the end of this course, your student will have created 4 different projects, which are detailed in the descriptions below...

🎵Week 1: we will learn about the 12-Bar Blues and create our own piece using the chord progression while adding our own fun and creative twist

🎵Week 2: we will create a piece inspired by a famous classical song, but remix it using modern instruments

🎵Week 3: we will learn about an instrument from ancient China, use the instrument in the app to record a custom melody, and add international loops to create our own international song 

🎵Week 4: we will learn to create a modern-day pop song using song writing form, popular chord progressions, modern instruments, and a new drumming technique




🎧 WEEKLY CONTENT: 🎧

Students will...
🎵Watch a weekly pre-recorded video by one of our instructors, Ms. G, with a step-by-step breakdown of the GarageBand project for the week
🎵Complete their very own project using the guidelines for the week
🎵 Post a file of their project in the discussion board by Friday each week (Ms. G will explain how to export and upload their project files in the videos)
🎵 Listen and respond to their peers' projects (minimum 2 per week) with positive feedback of what they enjoyed in their song
🎵Receive positive feedback and comments from their instructor on each project
