Students will be provided an invite to play on an interactive Minecraft Bedrock Realm. This is an online multi-player Minecraft world available 24 hours a day. During scheduled class meetings, most instruction will be provided within the realm in conjunction with a live Zoom classroom. Students will have opportunities to work towards goals both independently and through cooperation and communication with others. Students will be able to access the realm to explore new skills throughout...
The goal of this course is to provide students with the skills/knowledge needed to further their Minecraft gameplay in survival worlds.
I absolutely love the game of Minecraft. It is a fantastic way to use problem-solving skills and creativity in a fun and low-pressure environment. My daughter and I play together often, and I love seeing her confidence grow as she figures out new and inventive ways to build and play. My goal is for this class to bring the same confidence to enrolled students.
It is highly suggested that students play on the Minecraft Realm between class meetings. The best way to learn and develop new skills is to practice. Short videos will also be posted throughout the course for students to gain a better understanding of class material.
I will provide a Minecraft Bedrock Realm for students to play and learn on. In order to connect to the realm, students will need the Bedrock (not Java) version of Minecraft installed on a computer, mobile device, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch. Students will also need to provide me with their Xbox Live username upon enrolling. If you are unsure of which edition of Minecraft (Bedrock or Java) you own, please contact me before enrolling.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
- Minecraft Bedrock Edition
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Minecraft is a game with cartoon violence and monsters.
