Discussion of Roman culture unavoidably includes topics such as slavery and violence.
A PDF textbook will be provided. Purchasing a hard copy of the textbook is recommended (used is perfectly fine, edition doesn't matter very much). The text we use is the Cambridge Latin Course Unit Two
