Class Experience
Have fun with me as we knit a textured square using double moss stitch! In this pattern you will be alternating knit stitches and purl stitches in a specific pattern to achieve the textured fabric. In this class, we will quickly go over the two main kinds of stitches in knitting, and then use them together to create a beautiful pattern. This class is taught in English.
Learners will understand how to use the basics of a knit stitch and a purl stitch combined to create texture in their knitted fabric. They will begin knitting a 12" x 12" square, which they can use in many different ways, such as a washcloth, dishcloth, part of a knitted square blanket, part of a scarf, part of a pillow, a blanket for a small baby doll, etc.
Learners will be starting the knitting project together and then will complete it outside of class time. Finished project photos may be uploaded to the class as a comment on a post for up to 30 days after finished class time.
1 file available upon enrollment- about 100 yds (92 m) of any medium size yarn of your choice. (This can be DK, aran, or worsted weight.) - Size US 10 (6 mm) straight or circular knitting needles - tapestry needle - scissors
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Written pattern for the Double Moss Stitch Square will be provided. Link to video tutorials for cast on, bind off, and seed stitch pattern will be provided.
