Our chess class is taught over Zoom with an interactive chess study platform (lichess.org). MYMChess has a coaching account on the online chess study platform, lichess.org and we will assign each student a unique username / password for interactive play. Coach RJ has been teaching children the game of chess for over 10 years. Some of his students are New York State Elementary Champion, and National Chess Champion 1st place at kindergarten level. The class is broken down into theory lessons, follow by interactive chess play to practice the tactic or topic of the class. We also run weekly tournaments free to all students to practice and interact with each other. Students will learn pattern recognition, calculation, and visualization through out the course, and these will benefit the student in many levels. Students are expected to know the following prior enrolling into this class: - Chess pieces and its value - basic checkmate - Be able to start/finish a chess game This program will cover the following topics: - Intermediate tactics - Introduction to Deeper Pattern Recognition of Combination - Defense - Queen and Bishop Battery Checkmate Pattern - Queen and Rook Battery Checkmate Pattern - Queen and Knight Tango Checkmate Pattern - Queen and Pawn Storm Checkmate Pattern - Queen and King Dance Checkmate Pattern - Various Checkmates patterns - Weekly video for review - Homework assignments
