Intermediate Haiku Writing: The Art of Syllabification and Imagery in Haiku

This class will introduce the history of the art form of Haiku. Learners will develop skills in reading multi-syllabic and use them with sensory imagery in order to create Haiku poetry about the natural world.

Class Experience

Students will define haiku poetry; identify the form and structure of haiku poetry; understand how to compose a haiku poem through the use of multisyllabic words.
I encourage and urge students to continue to write poetry after our class!  
Please bring a pen, or pencil and a notebook to class. Thank you!
Students will be informally assessed throughout the lesson to inform instruction.
