Intermediate Guitar: Learn to Play "Good Riddance" by Green Day

During this one hour interactive group class, your student will be guided step-by-step through the intro (fingerstyle), verses, chorus, and outro (fingerstyle) of Good Riddance by Green Day. They will strengthen their skills and confidence in a positive atmosphere that prioritizes fun over 'perfect' technique. This is a great first song to learn for guitar players that are just getting comfortable with playing the guitar.

Students will learn:
-The chords of this song: G, C, and D
-The intro and outro: Fingerstyle is a more advanced guitar playing method and takes practice. This is a great song to become familiar with fingerstyle because it is relatively easy and uses the same chords as the rest of the song. 
-The verses and chorus: This song has a relatively repetitive guitar part, allowing the student to focus on mastering playing and switching between the most common chords.
-The strumming: This song has an intermediate strumming patter of -down down up up down up- It is a pattern that can be applied to many other songs. We will be strumming without a pick, which is also a fantastic skill to acquire especially in songs where there is fingerstyle playing!

Incoming learners should have some experience with guitar playing, as we will not go into depth with any one part of the learning process due to the short nature of the class. I provide my learners with virtual resources to be referenced during future independent practice sessions (can be downloaded or printed).
