Students will be taught how to single crochet with a hook and yarn. I will demonstrate how to single crochet and the students will follow along. I encourage questions from the students and I work very slowly to ensure that each student fully understands the steps of single crochet and everyone is able to keep up. I teach with the I do, we do, you do method so that the students can see how to do it before they do it themselves. The students will need to know how to tie a slip knot for their hook and how to make a chain.
Learning Goals
The goal of this class is for students to master single crochet, or to at least be introduced to the concept and practice it after class.

I have worked with children, newborn to junior high, for over 17 years now in many different settings. I worked in a daycare for four years, got my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, substituted in multiple schools, and have volunteered as a Sunday school teacher and in other leadership roles from the nursery to Junior high in my church for about 14 years now. I have also run my own homeschool co-op for the past three years.
My values behind my teaching are that students are natural learning and they learn best through play and are most motivated when they are learning about something that interests them. My classes will not be boring or strict! We are here to enjoy learning new things!
