In this one-time class, kids will learn how to cook an easy and tasty meal: Spaghetti with meat sauce and a garden salad. We will have fun and cook together with clear step-by-step instructions. The class will end with a finished meal that students can enjoy with their family for lunch or dinner! Recipes and supply lists will be provided. Please note this class is intended for children who have intermediate cooking skills. This means they have been in the kitchen many times before and...

•Safety Notes: This class is designed for children who have prior experience in cooking or baking, so please consider your child’s skill level before enrolling. Safety is VERY important in the kitchen, especially with young chefs! ***Please be aware of the following potential safety hazards in this cooking class and talk to your child before class about using caution: -Cutting: Students will be using knives and kitchen scissors to cut their food. -Hot Pots and Pans and Stove: Students will be using warm or hot pots and pans to prepare some food items on the stove. -Electric kitchen appliances: Students may also be using various small kitchen appliances such as the microwave, rice cookers, or toasters/toaster ovens. -Food temperature: Students will sometimes need to use their hands to move or pack warm foods. *** •Allergens and Food Sensitivities: We will be using foods that have allergens. Please see list below: -Wheat/gluten -Cheese As a person with food sensitivities, I understand how frustrating it is to want to cook certain dishes and not be able to! I will show students alternate ingredients they can use instead. I personally will be using dairy substitutes as I cook. If you feel that the original ingredients or substitutions will not work for your child, please consider enrolling them in a different class. •Parent help: Students are required to be able to do most of the basic cooking tasks listed above by themselves. If your student does end up needing hands-on help during class, please try your best to stay off-camera as much as possible. Thank you!
