This course is a flexible and extended version of my popular course, "Interior Design: Practice Putting Designs Together!" This class will cover a bit more material than the live class, and allow for more time for students to complete their designs/inspiration images. This class is perfect for those who wish to have more time to complete their interior design assignments and prefer to listen to lectures without other students present. In this course, students will learn about interior...
Students will improve their understanding of interior design concepts. Students will also exercise their creativity and imaginations.
Students will need to search for inspiration images and eventually submit a final design project by the end of the course. Students are welcome to collaborate on their final projects, but I would like for everyone to turn something in. Finding inspiration images should not take longer than 15-25 minutes, however students are welcome to spend as much time on these as they would like. The final project will take a different amount of time for every student, because every student will express their creativity differently.
Students should have access to the internet if they wish to search for their inspiration images that way. Students are also free to use magazines, drawings, books, or any other form of media they deem fit as long as they can show their work to me.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Assessment will be provided informally. Instead of focusing on a letter grade, students should focus on learning and being creative. Therefore, all feedback will be in the form of comments, suggestions, and discussions about their images/work.
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
I will suggest optional websites for students to use to help them with their final design project. I will put them in the PowerPoints I use for lecture.
