Interior Design: Learn How to Plan and Organize an Interior Design Project
In this one-time class, students learn what to consider when planning interior design projects & the steps to organizing them. This class is a basic life skills course, designed for students working with their families to redesign a room or build a new home; decorate for a season/holiday or for students, who simply enjoy drawing interior rooms on the computer or by hand.

In this one time, 35-minute class, students learn a step-by-step process for planning their interior design projects. We discuss how to organize the many elements that go into great interior decorations by defining the purpose/function of the room & how to use style, color, line, texture & accessories to create a harmonious design. We also discuss the steps of a completing a design project: planning, searching for materials & installing. Whether your student is working with their family to redesign a room; build a new home; decorate for a season/holiday or they simply enjoy drawing interior rooms on the computer or by hand, their designs, they will know what questions to ask about what they are creating. At the end of class, students are welcome to share their questions, thoughts or plans as they work with me, Ms. Katie, a professional interior designer. They will also get helpful decorating tips. This class is a slide-show presentation encouraging students to think about what goes into their design projects & defines steps to organizing them. However, we do not actually work on a specific design project in class. About Ms. Katie I am a professional designer, who holds a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Design (Architectural, Interior, Landscape) as well as worked in the building industry for over a decade in California and Washington States.
