Description
Class Experience
This class is a multi-day class. It focuses on how to use the writing prompt to create an essay. 1st Class Meeting: Introduce/Review 5-paragraph essay writing expectations. (Introductory Paragraph, 3 Body Paragraphs, and Conclusion Paragraph) Class will discuss the the elements of a 5-paragraph essay. This will provide the basic foundations needed for essay writing. The first writing prompt will be provided with a graphic organizer to outline initial ideas. 2nd Class Meeting: Students will...
Students will learn a basic way for them to create essay writing activities when a prompt is used.
Students will be expected to complete writing homework and submit it for feedback.
I will provide the rubric and revise and editing checklist to help students with their writing goals.
Students will be informally and formally assessed using participation in class and their individual writing.
2 hours 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
