In this one-time class we will go together on an adventure under the sea. Students will listen to a read-a-long with the teacher the book, "How to Catch a Mermaid" by Adam Wallace and check out beautiful Illustrations by Andy Elkerton. We will use interactive pieces to help promote class discussion, comprehension, and share ideas throughout our adventure. After the reading we will make our own beautiful mermaid. Students will share their thoughts and ideas about mermaids and participate in class discussions.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their comprehension and reading skills. They will be encouraged to share their ideas on how they would catch a mermaid. We will use our creative minds to create a beautiful mermaid together.Other Details
Supply List
two-page printout template of Mermaid A brown paper bag/ or piece of cardstock cut into this shape. Crayons/ gems, etc. to decorate mermaid glue stick
