Interactive Science Story Time: Who Would Win? Series (Ongoing)

Get ready to learn lots of cool facts about animals from all over the world and see them face off in a battle in this wildly popular non-fiction series, Who Would Win? by Jerry Pallotta. Each week we will read, and discuss a new book in the Who Would Win? series as we make predictions about which animal we think would win if they had to face each other in real life. This class is structured to be highly interactive and students will be able to interact with the information in each book by using an interactive worksheet during class, as well as sharing their thoughts and opinions with the rest of the class out loud. Following is a brief description the structure of each class, as well as the schedule for the next 20 weeks:

Class structure:
1. Meet and Greet (students can quickly share if they did something fun recently or what the weather is like where they live that day)
2. Battle Prediction (students will vote for which animal they think will win)
3. Read and Vote (students will listen as I read the book aloud and vote on their interactive worksheet for which feature of each animal they think would be more powerful in battle)
4. Final Discussion (students will say if their prediction was correct according to the author and whether or not they agree with the author)
5. Next Week's Topic (teacher will reveal which two animals will battle in the book read in the next class)
