Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 3
Beginner - Advanced Level
Each week, I will be reading a different book from Anna Kopp's Unofficial Minecraft book series written specifically for early readers. This highly interactive read aloud is complete with engaging discussion, early Language Arts skills, and plenty of Minecraft tips and tricks! Reading skills and learner copy of the books are not needed. Nonverbal participation is welcome. All printable activity pages that I have created as well as the learner Minecraft build challenges are optional. A love for Minecraft is all that is needed. 🙂

Please bring your Minecraft knowledge and learner choice of items such as coloring/art/craft, building blocks/bricks or sculpting dough supplies, or Minecraft build to show if desired. I will also have optional, printable documents available each week. Learners will be actively involved in sharing their Minecraft experiences related to each story, including critical thinking and problem solving if they wish. We will connect the book topic to early elementary library media, Language Arts, and STEAM skills, including parts of a book, story elements, predictions, sequence of events, characters, setting, character traits, Minecraft mining and item crafting, and creative expression as relevant for each book. Your learner will connect character traits in relation to their own.

Learners will have the optional opportunity to create, color, decorate, or describe their Minecraft style creation. Learners can also describe their idea, create it in advance, during, or post an image or description after class time. Creations are completely optional.

Join any time. Classes do not need to be taken in order. Reading skills and learner copy of the books are not needed.

Learning Needs
As a neurodivergent person myself, and an experienced, highly trained & certified educator, I create my classes to be neurodiverse & neurodivergent inclusive including dyslexia, autism ASD, 2e, gifted, ADHD, & PDA. Special Ed friendly.
Parental Guidance
We will not be playing Minecraft together in this class, however learners are welcome to play in their own Minecraft world during our class session. Gamer tags are not shared. I will be reading with the book pages displayed. Learners do not need to be able to read, or have copies of the books used, to actively participate in this class. Minecraft sword crafting recipes and defeating Minecraft mobs (monsters) with the swords are mentioned. This is the Minecraft cartoon/fantasy, mild violence without blood or gore, that learners familiar with Minecraft mob battles will be very familiar with. All art/craft items will be listed in advanced and are completely optional. Learner's choice.
Supply List
Learners have the opportunity to make their own creations related to Minecraft and/or each book. I have created some documents for printing (optional) and will post them in the classroom in advance.

Coloring/art/craft supplies of choice are welcomed. For example, learners are welcome to use the documents I create as a template when posted or use sculpting dough, building bricks/blocks, draw their own, create in Minecraft, or solely describe their creations.

We will not be playing Minecraft together in this class.
