Spanning the breadth of the Grade 4 - Grade 8 Math Curriculum (UK Key Stage 2 and 3) this course provides students the opportunity to recall skills they have already learned as well as acquiring some new skills along the way. Each class is presented online as an interactive text based story. Students click through the options until they get to a puzzle which they need to solve correctly to move forward in the story. Wrong answers end up in dead ends with hints to allow a student to try again with confidence. Each story can take up to two hours to complete and can be split up across several days. The math puzzles in this course are wrapped in four engaging stories that compel your young mathematician to want to stick with the challenges to solve the mystery. Any wrong answers are explained and learners have the opportunity to go back and make a different choice. I have loved the medium of interactive storytelling since I was a child and I am delighted to have found a way of sharing it with a new generation of learners too. I learned how to create digital interactive stories at a weekend workshop at the British Library in London just before the 1st UK Covid lock down in 2020. The British Library is an awesome environment for learning surrounded by over 200 million books and historical documents, and this was my first ever visit - I will definitely return.
