Class Experience
Recap and Recall Previous Learning in the topics: Shape Space and Measure Including puzzles involving - Number Patterns, Factors, Primes, Place Value and recognise different Number Properties. Number Including puzzles involving - Number Patterns, Factors, Primes, Place Value and recognise different Number Properties. Data Handling Including puzzles involving - Tables, Charts, Graphs, Averages and Probability. Calculation Including puzzles involving - Fractions, Decimals, Percentages, Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Place Value.
I have loved the medium of interactive storytelling since I was a child and I am delighted to have found a way of sharing it with a new generation of learners too. I learned how to create digital interactive stories at a weekend workshop at the British Library in London just before the 1st UK Covid lock down in 2020. The British Library is an awesome environment for learning surrounded by over 200 million books and historical documents, and this was my first ever visit - I will definitely return. As a qualified Middle and High School Math Teacher I am passionate about making Math fun and engaging. I believe that we all learn best when we are having fun and my courses are highly interactive and personalised. I am here to support you in your quest to keep your child learning. Let me help you to support your child to build their confidence and competence with their Math.
Each class takes approximately 60-120 minutes. There will be an opportunity for you child to share what they are learning with other learners and with me throughout each story. They can also ask for help and collaborate with other learners to solve the puzzles.
Equip yourself for success: Pencils and paper. Exercise book or file paper and ring binder to record notes throughout the class. A mini whiteboard, white board pen and eraser (optional)
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
