Description

Class Experience

In this course we will use a set of dice to 'Roll-A-Story' about a family's Thanksgiving dinner. A roll of the dice will determine character, setting, and problem. After the three rolls learners will be given a set amount of time to write that story, then we'll start over!

I believe choice is vital in creating life-long writers. However, too much choice is overwhelming. This course strikes the perfect balancing with a fun topic of choice, and a hands-on way to determine the plot. 

Younger...

Learners will practice writing narrative texts with a predetermined character, setting, and problem. Learners will also practice flexible thinking when they switch stories.

I have a Master's of Education degree and I am a certified teacher with over ten years experience in education. I am certified in K-6 elementary education, 7-12 social studies education, 7-12 language arts education, and K-12 Reading education.

A one-page graphic will be provided. Learners will also need a die or set of dice, and paper and pencil.

40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
