Class Experience

US Grade 2 - 7
The objective of this class is to help students build natural sentence structure and use words they already know in real life settings. We will focus on practical usage of English grammar in everyday situations, using lots of pictures and worksheets. The one-on-one setting will provide an opportunity to customize the lesson for each student's individual needs. The resulting class will be fun, challenging, and interactive!

Who is this class for?
🔹 English language learners who have a knowledge of basic vocabulary but would like practice in putting those words to use.
🔹 Students who struggle to make a connection between grammatical rules and real-world usage.
🔹 This course can also be used as a review or refresher for students who have already considered some grammar topics.

👩‍🏫 In my experience teaching English as a second language to international students, I have noticed that many kids struggle to learn correct grammar. With this need in mind, I designed this course to help students learn basic grammar rules and sentence structure in a fun environment.

Here is an overview of the topics that will be considered:

Week 1: Building blocks 🟦 Learn some of the parts of speech that make up a sentence. Use these words to talk about your home, school, and pets.
Week 2: Questions and answers ❓ Learn how to ask and answer questions about weather, clothing and places.
Lesson 3: Irregular verbs and adverbs 🧐 Take a closer look at some tricky words and practice using them to discuss books, foods, and daily activities.
Lesson 4: Describing people 👩👱‍♂️ Describe your family and friends using descriptive words, comparisons, and superlatives.
Lesson 5: Small talk and conversation skills 🗨️ Practice some common conversation topics by discussing your opinions and preferences. This lesson will also cover contractions and idiomatic expressions.
