Intensive Reading Intervention using the Lindamood Bell Method - Level 2
Class experience
US Grade 2 - 5
Does your student struggle with: * Decoding (sounding out words) * Spelling * Phonics (letter & sound combinations) * Blending (putting the sounds together) * Sound sequencing (saying the correct sound in the correct order) * "Getting the words off the page" The Lindamood Bell Seeing Stars program is an intensive program for students who are struggling with these reading skills. My "Level 2" class will focus on CVC (consonant- vowel - consonant) combinations. For example: tap, tape,...
Students will practice automaticity of blending and spelling of single syllable words with various consonant and vowel patterns. This class is most appropriate for beginning readers who understand the concept of "sounding out words" and have some beginning skills with phonics, but are struggling with the "rules" of long versus short vowel sounds.
As a special education teacher for 19 years, I have been using the Lindamood Bell techniques for decoding, comprehension, and math. This class will use the "Seeing Stars" program which focuses on decoding skills. The Lindamood Bell method combines auditory, visual, and language skills for a comprehensive approach for the struggling learner.
