My teaching goal is to connect with students and have them feel comfortable and empowered while learning French. I will quickly review the skills your child has mastered and target my instruction to your child's individual needs. I will teach using flashcards, Google Slides, Google Jamboards, worksheets, games, and decodable texts. Topics will include: 1) Phonemic and Phonological Awareness, 2) Syllables 3) Vowel Blends 4) Sight Word Recognition 5) Oral Reading Fluency Practice, 6)...
This class is taught in English.
1. Students will be able to give the sound that each letter or letter combination makes in French. 2. Students will be able to identify French vowel blends. 3. Students will be able to hear the number of syllables in words. 4. Students will be able to divide, code, and read multisyllabic words. 5. Students will increase French vocabulary. 6. Students will improve their French sight word recognition. 7. Students will improve their French reading fluency. 8. Students will practice their French oral communication.
I am a elementary school teacher with both French as a Second Language and Primary Education Specialists.
Depending on individual student needs, students may be given syllable practice, French sight words to review, or French reading passages to practice.
Please have either paper/notebook and pencil or whiteboard and marker available for students. Ability to print course materials is also useful, depending on the student's needs.
Ongoing, informal assessments will be given to measure student progress.
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
