US Grade 6 - 9
This class is by request only. When registering for this course, be aware that this course is very individualized for 1 or 2 students. Every class and section will have an individual schedule with input from school, parent and teacher. We can have an intensive honors experience or an intensive and enriching getting up to grade level experience. In this intensive math class, students will work on math skills to maintain grade level, reach grade level or go above grade level. Skills from pre-algebra to precalculus can be covered. Each student will have their own course of study with their own goals. Homework will be provided if it meets the needs of each individual student. This is a good class to take concurrently with a core math class or to replace a core math class. For 45 minutes, 4 times a week we will try different approaches to learning and practicing and discover what works best for your student to retain and become more proficient. If student is taking another math class, we will cover what is covered in that math class. If student is not then we will follow a schedule that applies to the age appropriate or developmentally appropriate math that they should be taking. This might include pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Precalculus, Integrated Math 1, 2, and 3. Student, parents and teacher will be in communication to decide what will work best. Programs such as Desmos, Geogebra will be use as resources as needed. We will learn how to use technology to get the full math experience as part of teaching but also learn how to use number sense and mental math to more understand the nature of numbers.
Learning Goals
Students will learn to improve and develop math skills.

I have a Masters of Mathematics and am a licensed secondary math and financial literacy teacher. I also teach a math class for a local university. I love the exploration of math and plan to explore it in all of my classes. I also have a love of real world application and will also be teaching financial literacy courses.
My semester long classes will include plenty of exploration but will also be courses that will allow students to understand and practice concepts. As far as core classes go I teach Algebra, Geometry, Algebra 2, Precalculus and Financial Literacy.
I have taught in ages 12 to 18 in a traditional classroom. I have also spent time volunteering and substituting in elementary math classes. I have worked with many students that have math anxiety and look forward to working with your students.
Feel free to request classes. I teach both integrated math as well as algebra, geometry, trignometry and statistics as well as financial literacy. I have received certification through NGPF to teach financial literacy.
