Class Experience

Students will work toward Spanish fluency by learning new vocabulary weekly, practicing pronunciation and speaking in complete sentences in Spanish, as well as reading and writing practice in Spanish.
I earned a B.A. in Spanish from Grace College in Indiana. I had the opportunity to live and study in Madrid, Spain where I was immersed in the language and culture. I have formal experience teaching Spanish in a Texas middle school classroom for two years and have experience teaching virtually.

At the beginning of each week, students will be provided with a handout to print or students can choose to use a blank piece of paper and pencil to write down notes and examples from the lesson.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Kahoot will be utilized in class occasionally to provide students with a fun, engaging way to practice vocabulary and other skills. Some videos on YouTube may be shown to help students practice listening in Spanish. For example, a short story may be narrated on YouTube that we would listen/read together in class and discuss.
We will read some short stories or scenarios in Spanish. Some will be written by the teacher while others are from published, Spanish-Speaking authors.
