This intensive Spanish course is designed for Beginner Spanish learners with no prior experience necessary. This class is a fun way to start learning Spanish on an accelerated path. The first class of the week will discuss new vocabulary related to the theme or topic for the current week. Students will have the opportunity to learn the new vocabulary and practice pronunciation. The first class of the week will also give the students a chance to practice speaking in complete sentences in Spanish. The second class of the week will cover reading and writing. A short story with illustrations will be read as a class allowing students to improve their listening skills, comprehension, and speaking. Writing will be incorporated as students answer questions in Spanish or practice writing their own story or dialogue. This class meets twice a week for 30 minutes, but one available class meets for an hour and covers both Lesson 1 and Lesson 2 at the same time. This class is on Saturday from 10:30-11:30 AM Central. At the beginning of each week, students will be provided with a handout to print or students can choose to use a blank piece of paper and pencil to write down notes and examples from the lesson. Week of November 20th will cover Grocery Store and Food in Spanish. Week of November 27th will cover Parts of the Body in Spanish. Week of December 4th will cover Clothing in Spanish. Week of December 11th there is no class. Week of December 18th will cover Parts of the House in Spanish. Week of December 25th will cover Furniture in Spanish. Week of January 1st will cover Parts of the School in Spanish. Week of January 8th will cover School Subjects in Spanish. Week of January 15th will cover Activities in Spanish. Week of January 22nd will cover Sports in Spanish. Week of January 29th will cover Food in Spanish. Week of February 5th will cover Colors in Spanish. Week of February 12th will cover Weather in Spanish. Week of February 19th will cover Travel in Spanish. Week of February 26th will cover Holiday 1 in Spanish. Week of March 4th will cover Adjectives in Spanish. Week of March 11th will cover Feelings in Spanish. Week of March 18th will cover "I like" statements in Spanish. Week of March 25th will cover Animals in Spanish. Week of April 1st will cover Safari Animals in Spanish. Week of April 8th will cover Beach in Spanish. Week of April 15th will cover Stores in Spanish. Week of April 22nd will cover Holiday 2 in Spanish. Week of April 29th will cover Christmas in Spanish-speaking countries in Spanish. Week of May 6th will cover NYE in Spanish-speaking countries in Spanish. (26-week curriculum will resume from Week 1 and repeat.) Week of May 13th will cover Greetings in Spanish. Learning Goals
Students will work toward Spanish fluency by learning new vocabulary weekly, practicing pronunciation and speaking in complete sentences in Spanish, as well as reading and writing practice in Spanish.
Other Details
Parental Guidance
Kahoot will be utilized in class occasionally to provide students with a fun, engaging way to practice vocabulary and other skills. Some videos on YouTube may be shown to help students practice listening in Spanish. For example, a short story may be narrated on YouTube that we would listen/read together in class and discuss.

Bachelor's Degree in Foreign Language from Grace College
I earned a B.A. in Spanish from Grace College in Indiana. I had the opportunity to live and study in Madrid, Spain where I was immersed in the language and culture. I have formal experience teaching Spanish in a Texas middle school classroom for three years and have experience teaching virtually.
