Description

Class Experience

Join me for a fun and engaging camp where we will make an instrument each day with items found around the home.  This is a beginner class, so it doesn't require any beginning music preparation.  Learners will learn different rhythm patterns, first by clapping out the patterns of notes/rests learned, and next by performing these patterns on their instruments.  

 Below are the instruments we will create: 

DAY 1   Drum  
DAY 2   Maraca
DAY 3   Tambourine
DAY 4   Rain Stick

On the final day,...

Drum:  Coffee can with cover, rubber band, 2 pieces of construction or copy paper, crayons or markers, piece of cloth cut in circle one inch larger than coffee can cover. 
Maracas:   2 small plastic water bottles, 1 cup rice, 1 cup beans, markers, tape, 2 toilet paper rolls
Tamborine:   2 sturdy paper plates, double-sided tape, 1/4 cup of uncooked beans, rice or hard cereal, crayons or markers
Rain Stick:  Sturdy cardboard tube (aluminum foil roll), markers, large brown paper grocery bag, pieces of yarn, rubber bands, rice, beans

2 hours 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
