Students of all levels are welcome to join this ongoing class. Perspective With a Twist is an exciting way to learn perspective drawing. Instead of just a landscape, the students will be able to learn how to add in humans, animals, fantasy figures and mythological beasts to their work while being all in perspective. We will sketch a new landscape in perspective every week. This drawing practice is good to learn where and how to draw subjects on the 2-D page to create dimension and depth within a drawing. Each week is charged as a subscription on Sunday mornings. Students can join or leave the series any week. During class the students will: 1. Understand the principles of perspective, horizon line, and vanishing point. They will also learn where to position subjects and objects to acsentuate form and perspective. 2. The student will learn how to create a visual field by framing in the landscape with objects such as: trees, clouds, animals and people. 3. learn to fit details into the drawing as a whole and develop a personal way of simplifying the details so that it is quicker to draw complex backgrounds 4. The student will learn cross hatching, shading, and contrast from light and dark to add shadows to their work. 5. The student will learn how to use additive and subtractive marks within the piece to create a dynamic result. 6. The student will learn different types of line quality which will push and pull objects within the composition. This class is taught in a interactive way so that the students will have input and be able to share and learn with each other while they are in class.
