Description
Class Experience
Learners will experiment using various natural materials in their art as they challenge themselves and develop their craft, as well as their ability to talk about their inspiration, process, and creations using art terminology.
Each week, learners will complete one art challenge and introduce it in writing or orally in the classroom, as well as vote for a classmate.
Each learner must have access to some basic art supplies and to natural materials to include in their art. However, a range of mediums will be suitable each week, for example, shells, feathers, leaves, flowers, bark, stones, etc.
40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Random topics may come up for discussion in the classroom based on each artist's theme and creation. However, no sensitive topics are expected to arise. However, please do talk to your learner about the importance of respecting nature as they collect supplies each week.
