Class Experience
In this Hocus Pocus-inspired class, learners will discover the truths and the myths behind the characters and setting of the movies Hocus Pocus and Hocus Pocus 2. At the beginning of class, the learners and teacher will have an introductory discussion about the movie. Visuals and pictures will be used in class to create discussion. Miss Ashley has taught over 10,000+ virtual classes in all subjects over several years on different platforms. She has 18+ years of tutoring/teaching experience, both virtual and in-person, as well as 16 years+ of experience as a volunteer teacher, tutor, and coach in schools and classrooms. In addition to teaching, Miss. Ashley is part of curriculum development and review team for an online ELA and math teaching/tutoring company, where she also serves as a Learning Partner and Academic Advisor for incoming students. Other related experience includes ELA and math tutoring the University of Connecticut Student Center, substitute teaching in public school system and working for five years as a Financial Controller of a litigation support firm with offices across the United States. Miss Ashley truly values each and every student, and she hopes to help them to find a love of learning.

This class will be discussing themes, characters and settings relating to the Disney movies Hocus Pocus and Hocus Pocus 2, which both have an official rating of PG. This class may include the Salem Witch Trials and the witches who were killed/hanged during that period. This may be a sensitive topic for some learners. Also, please note that we will NOT be watching the movie or clips of the movie during this class. The class materials will be presented via Google Slides and screen shared on the teacher's screen only. During class, learners will need nothing outside of the Outschool Zoom classroom.
