I have taught elementary education for 16 years in the public school setting for grades 1-3. I have a strong background in reading and love using reading to teach across other content areas. It is my goal and desire to show every child that reading can be fun and that it can cover a variety of interests and that we can learn many things while reading.
The students will be doing the majority of their research in class for the process of completing this book, however, they will be encouraged to complete a written piece on their research gained through class. We will take a few minutes of the beginning of the following class for the kiddos to share their written pieces.
The students will be using an outside resource provided by the teacher as an attachment that will have to be printed out and used for the class sessions.
By the end of this course, the students will have completed 8 different tab-books on 8 different insects that we research together through class.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Parental support is asked for the help of printing out the required pages for each class and for the process of putting the tab-book together for the class session.
