Ink and Ambition

Class Description: Ink and Ambition is a dynamic program designed to help young learners aged 13-18 unleash their creative potential and entrepreneurial spirit by guiding them through the process of writing, illustrating, and marketing their own books. This program focuses on literacy, creativity, and business skills to equip students with the tools they need to become confident authors and entrepreneurs.

What Will Be Taught? In this class, students will learn how to write a compelling story, illustrate their book, and create a marketing plan to promote their work. They'll explore key concepts in entrepreneurship, including business planning, budgeting, and how to present and sell their ideas. The class will also cover leadership skills like pitching and public speaking, preparing students to confidently share their work with the world.

How is the Class Structured? Each week, the class will focus on a specific area of the book creation process, from brainstorming and writing to illustrating and marketing. The program will combine practical activities, group projects, and individual assignments. Classes will be hands-on, allowing students to apply what they’ve learned in real-time while receiving feedback and guidance.

How Will You Teach? I use an interactive, student-centered teaching style that combines instruction with creative hands-on activities. Students will engage in both group and solo projects, including writing exercises, drawing sessions, and business planning tasks. I will also provide clear, step-by-step guides to help students through each phase of their book creation journey.

Teaching Style: My teaching style is dynamic and engaging. I emphasize active participation and encourage students to learn by doing. We will use a mix of multimedia tools like slides, video clips, and visual aids to support the lessons. I believe in fostering an open, supportive environment where questions and ideas are welcomed.

How Much Will Learners Interact with You? Students will have multiple opportunities to interact with me throughout the course.
