Class Experience

Students will learn what makes great informative writing and apply their new skills to their own writing.
We will begin all writing tasks during class; however, learners should expect to do some writing at home. The final essay, in particular, will need to be written outside of class and submitted by the last day of class.
Learners will need to have access to a variety of non-fiction texts, such as books, websites, articles, or videos. A notebook and pencil will be required for completing class work and taking notes.
Assessment will be informal but specific. I will comment on what I appreciate about the writing and also identify the best area of focus for taking the learner's writing to the next level. Specific suggestions will be offered.
40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
