Students will practice important reading and writing skills while enjoying interactive activities. Reading will be the basis of the class and from this we will build onto a strong foundation of comprehension, grammar and writing skills. They will learn to write different kinds of paragraphs, letters, and stories, study correct grammar, read articles and stories and discuss, read plays, and write poetry.
No homework, all writing is assigned in class
Students will need a way to write. They are welcome to bring a notebook and pencil - whatever they or their parents are most comfortable with. If they write in a notebook, they may want to to have a separate notebook for this class to keep all of their writing projects together. For some activities we will use the chat and annotate features on Zoom, so it is helpful if students already know how to access these functions. If not, I will definitely be there to help!
Ongoing teacher assessment provided orally in class as needed.
1 hour 40 minutes per week in class, and no time outside of class.
