This Class is designed for Beginning Readers and Writers to get individual tutoring . Two 25 minute sessions a week – I will support your child in building confidence in their abilities to become fluent readers and writers.

Class Experience

Students will be asked to read independently at least 15 minutes a day. Depending on the focus of our work there - homework will vary and  at least 30 minutes between sessions will be expected and then sent back to me for review.   Students will be expected to practice sight words and read assigned books.

White Board and Dry Erase Marker(s) and eraser/ or sock Sharpened Pencils and Eraser Lined paper Crayons for illustrating work A dedicated bin to keep materials for this class. Awesome but not required: Magnetic Letters and board - I recommend I use JoyNote Classroom Magnetic Letters Kit 234 Pcs with Double-Side Magnet Board - Foam Alphabet Letters for Kids Spelling and Learning - They are blue and red (please do not get multicolored) $22.99 on Amazon - The board is both magnetic and serves as a whiteboard.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
I will use a battery of assessments including running records, fluency checks, San Diego Quick Assessment, Fry Sight Word drill, informal spelling checks, etc... I will also give parents a weekly update of our progress. 
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
