I will work with each student in one-on-one consultations, to write a polished statement or short responses on college applications.   This class is most suitable for students applying to selective or elite colleges. 

3 INDIVIDUAL SESSIONS: Individualized tutoring looks different for each student, but here is a typical breakdown of 3 sessions dedicated to writing a Common App essay or main application essay: 
*  During the first meeting, I briefly review key points that are often overlooked when students write a college application essay. We will set goals and also talk about common mistakes to avoid. If needed, we will brainstorm ideas and develop a plan for the first draft. You will draft/write on your own time, and send me the draft before our second meeting. 
*  The second meeting is for live consultation and feedback on the draft. We work on targeted revisions, bringing in new ideas or re-organization if needed. Then you will work on a second round of revisions.
*  During the third meeting I typically provide close proofreading and editing, to complete a polished essay that conforms to the requirements of the application (Common App or another application type). 

The class fee includes my time between class meetings, when I read and annotate the drafts, and compile feedback and suggestions. If you wish to also work on supplemental essays or other writing tasks, you are welcome to enroll in additional 1-on-1 sessions.

There is flexibility in scheduling: I will work with each student to find days and times to meet. 

Refund policy for this class is FLEXIBLE:  "Full refund until the class begins, or within 24 hours of purchase (until class starts), then a pro-rated refund based on the number of meetings."
