In this on-going course, students will work one-on-one with the teacher in developing important English/Language Arts skills in writing (essay, creative, and more), reading (close-reading, fiction, non-fiction, and more, and note-taking!

Class experience

US Grade 6 - 12
This class is taught in English.
Students will be able to define thesis statement and be able to develop their own thesis statements.

Students will be able to follow a step-by-step process to develop their own clear and concise thesis statements.
I have taught this method of developing a thesis statement for many years. It is particularly valuable for students who are working on research papers and who have a particular question that they are expected to answer.
Homework Offered
If student work progresses to more independence, then students might need to have their work prepared ahead of time so that he/she can work one on one with the teacher to edit and revise work to continue to improve his/her writing ability.

Google Drive will be used but can be accessed without an account and copied into a Word Document if needed.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
