Please check out the new WINTER ACTIVITIES & CRAFTS I have added and the correlating SEL theme we will discuss as we work!!! I am so excited to get started!! 

Who are you? Making a different kind of self portrait when we take the traditional self portrait and combine it with a "Me" Collage! - We will look at the following and discuss these works. Alternate -Winter theme- Gingerbread activity!!!

Learn how to draw a Tree with many branches and bringing some life to your art. In this class we learn how to make Trees look more real and textured. We will discuss different support we have in our lives, family and friends while making our trees. -Students will be shown multiple types Trees to draw!!

 SnowFlakes!!! Did you know that no two snowflakes are exactly the same? YOU are just as unique as a snowflake!!! Join me as we draw our own snowflake while discussing some great qualities you have!!- (Alternative is a cutting activity)

 Self-Awareness!- What fills your Mug? Making a creative mug/cup and discussing what makes us happy or feel good about ourselves! -Handout is given prior to class! (Alternative- Handout-Cup of Cheer!!! Draw or paint your own beautiful cup as we discuss together what makes us happy and cheerful!!!)

Grateful Snow Globe- Making a snow globe and filling it with all the things we are grateful for!! (Handouts will be given prior to class)

 Once Upon a Time... We will create our very own fairy tale or story!! This can be whatever you imagine! Dragons, Princesses, Space...any adventure you can think of!!

 Growth Mindset Check!!- Making a craft and discussing how we can build on our growth mindset and a positive attitude!!

 Emotion Tree- We build on our tree drawing skills from previous Tree Drawing Class and will discuss & identify our emotions. 

Inside Out 1 & 2 Activities- We have ALL the emotions!! Students will Identify their emotions and draw them out and answer a few questions! Example: For embarrassed the student will draw what they might look like. Students will be given a handout that has the emotions listed along with the corresponding character. Example of a question to fill out in the writing portion: "Some recent things that have made me feel embarrassed are." Students are never require or made to complete any writing, questions can be answered and discussed verbally. Classes are tailored to your students needs! 

My Gratitude Jar!- We will draw a Jar and decorate it. We will discuss some topics such as :  Why is gratitude important? What are you grateful for? Who are you grateful for? 

Dinosaurs!!! We will trace our hands in a cool way that will give us a Dinosaur.  We will then paint it with a Comb!!! 

 Fingerprint people! We will create a picture of your Friends and talk about the qualities you like in your friends. Create a scene of something you like doing with your friends or Family! Using our fingerprints, different colors of paint and 1 black marker! 

Making your own Mandela!!! Learn how to make your own Mandela using Lines, dots, splashes, hearts and other shapes we will talk about! We will discuss Coping Skills and using Art as a way to relax and decompress!!

 Superhero! What would you look like as a superhero? What would your powers be? Why are these important to you? 

 Dandelions!!!! Did you know the Dandelion is a symbol of Hope? We will make Dandelions using paint and Q-tips!

Learning Needs
Depending on your child's age and abilities some parental guidance may be needed if scissors are used or painting projects this is at the parents discretion and not a requirement.
Parental Guidance
This class does not treat or diagnose mental health disorders. This class should not be used as an replacement or alternative to Mental health treatment.
Supply List
Supplies will vary depending on the project. Common items that can be used are crayons, non-toxic paint & brushes, white paper, scissors, colored pencils, 

Some items that may be added to above list depending on the project: 
plastic forks (painting with forks to make flowers), a drinking straw (blowing paint- My Crazy Hair project), Scissors & Colored Construction Paper  (*Alternatives--Color white paper first and then we can cut it out or cut up magazines (cutting out paper to make animals)

Other supplies will be listed with the projects!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have been in the field since 2015 and have worked in many different settings. I personally love to paint and create art. I have found it to be a very useful tool when working with students and clients over the years.
