Homework
1 hour per week. Several days prior to our private session, athletes will be asked to complete a questionnaire so I can get to know their sport, performance goals and areas on which we need to concentrate - nerves, focus, flow, etc.Class Experience
Athletes will experience a sport performance - specific guided meditation, customized to their sport and individual needs. Meditation can, among other things, increase mindfulness, calm nerves, and improve focus and concentration. Meditation enhances the mind-body connection, which is critical to experiencing “flow” or being “in the zone,” which athletes strive for on big days to achieve their optimal performance. Whether testing for a karate belt, getting ready for team try-outs, or preparing for a big tennis tournament or skating competition, each athlete will help develop, and then experience, their own guided meditation.
Learning Goals
Through their guided meditation, athletes will learn a combination of visualization, breathing and sensory-engaging techniques to help them prepare their upcoming sporting event. These techniques can be applied to other areas of life as well, whenever they need calm or focus or connection.

Supply List
Learners will need to complete and submit the questionnaire to me several days prior to the session. I will give each student a summary of their meditation and key focal points within a few hours after class.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
