Students will engage in various hands on activities that build upon their writing and math skills. The content and lessons will change depending on your child's needs and abilities. Math: 1. Adding and subtracting - 1,2,3 digits 2. Skip Counting by 2s, 5s, 10s 4. How to solve number problems 5. What is place value 6. Geometry 7. How to create, read, and use graphs 8. Ways to demonstrate thinking in written and symbol form 9. How to tell time to the hour and half hour 10. How to count...
This class is taught in English.
Students will become comfortable with manipulating numbers in order to add and subtract. They will develop skills to demonstrate their understanding and ability to discuss and share multiple strategies when solving number story problems. They will understand how to tell time to the hour and half hour using a digital and analog clock. They will be able to identify coins, their values, and use them to solve problems. They will be able to identify 2D and 3D shapes and their attributes. They will be able to gather information and create a graph and then discuss their findings.
Students need paper, pencil, white board, dry erase markers (if possible) and coloring materials for each class. There may be other various materials needed for classes that will be posted to the classroom page prior to class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
